Statement of Faith

WRTS adheres to the following Statement of Faith:

The doctrinal position of WRTS follows the historic tradition of the Protestant Reformation. This School is based upon the premise that the Scriptures are TRUE and without error. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Lord and Savior of the world and that apart from faith in His atoning work there is no redemption. The doctrinal statements as stated below are the basic presuppositions which shall dominate the classroom. At all times the Scriptures themselves are the final authority for whatever is being taught. The Scriptures are to be regarded as true, they are to be reverenced, and they are to be obeyed.

We believe the doctrines of the Scriptures as stated in the three ecumenical creeds: The Apostles' Creed, The Nicene Creed, and the Creed of Chalcedon . We also hold to those doctrines which are common to the Westminster Confession of Faith, The Heidelberg Catechism, The Canons of Dort and the Belgic Confession.

We Believe that God is one Being eternally existing in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. God is the Sovereign, the Creator and the Sustainer of all things. God is the Source and End of all truth.

The Scriptures are the written Word of God, inerrant in their original writings, the infallible authority by which He directs and governs all our activities.

Jesus Christ is the eternal begotten Son of God, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary - true God - true Man. Through Christ's life, death, resurrection and ascension, He accomplished a decisive victory over sin for His people and established His kingdom among men.

Man was created in the image of God as a rational, moral and spiritual being. Man sinned in Adam and fell with him in his first transgression. Man's fall affected his entire being. He is restored only by the renewing grace of the Holy Spirit and the cleansing blood of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The Lord will return in glory and triumph for the final judgment and the consummation of His kingdom.

All members of the board of directors and faculty agree and adhere to all teachings common to the following historic Confessions:

  • The Three Forms of Unity (Heidelberg Catechism, Belgic confession, and the Cannons of Dort)
  • Westminster Confession of Faith
